It was an early start this morning for the chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting. This month it was held at the the De La Warr Pavilion which was a lovely setting and watching the tide come in while eating a croissant and sipping a coffee was no bad way to spend the morning. There was a good turn out for the breakfast, I think around 30 members attended. The De La Warr did a fantastic job of providing breakfast, there was fruit salad and yoghurt, a full cooked breakfast and a selection of bread, pastries and danishes, we really were spoilt for choice. There was as much tea and coffee as you could possibly want.
As usual all the normal networking occurred, although with every breakfast this becomes more and more enjoyable as we get to know the other members better. It was also nice to see a number of new faces. this weeks speaker was fittingly Stewart Drew (Director of the De La Warr) he gave us an insight into all future events at the De La Warr in the run up to Christmas, ranging from comedy gigs to the 1930’s themed 80th birthday celebration for the De La Warr. Stewart also spoke about their art exhibitions, currently they are displaying work produced by 14 artists all of whom have intellectual impairment. Full details of the exhibitions and all upcoming events can be found at De La Warr Pavilion
When it came to each attendee having the opportunity to plug their own business I instead used that time to try and drum up interest for the chamber of commerce Christmas Party, which myself, Lucy and Stella (of House Sussex PA) are organising. Hopefully it will prove to be popular.
It really was a lovely morning, and a very good way to start off a Friday morning.
